Georgia Lineman Has Clemson Offer

With Georgia's success on the field last year, most schools, including Clemson, found it tough to recruit against the Dawgs in their own backyard. The new recruiting season is upon us however, and the Tigers are moving in hard on several Peach State prospects, including Dalton's Cameron Mayo.

Cameron Mayo is an offensive line prospect from Dalton, Georgia. Mayo, 6-5 and 250-pounds that plays offensive tackle.

"I think I pass protect the best," Mayo said. "I have long arms and when I lock in on the defender, it's a big advantage for me. I also have good feet and I stay with my blocks out there."

According to his father, Ole Miss, Clemson, Duke, Cincinnati, Louisville, Middle Tennessee State and East Carolina have offered him a scholarship.

Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, South Carolina, Florida and Clemson also came by his school this past month during the May evaluation period. Mayo and his Dad feel Georgia Tech and Vandy are close to offering.

This summer, Mayo will camp at Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Vandy, Auburn and Florida. And he would like to visit Clemson, Duke and South Carolina.

"I want to pick a place where they like me and treat me well. I would love to be playing by my second year. Right now, everything is open."

As an interesting side note, Cameron's father played on the offensive line at Tennessee. We will continue to keep you updated on Cameron Mayo, right up through signing day 2004. Top Stories
