Clemson resume impresses DT

Earlier this year, Clemson stepped up and offered this 6-foot-2, 320-pound junior defensive tackle from Tennessee.

East High School [Memphis] junior Herbert Moore recently spoke with about the latest in his recruitment.

"I know Clemson is a good school. It's somewhere to be at for d-lineman," he said.

Defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks recruits the area for the Tigers.

"He sends me letters and he comes to the school," Moore said.

Along with Clemson, Illinois, North Carolina and Vanderbilt have also offered.

"I just want to go to a school and picture myself not playing football. Just being there and see what kind of a place it is," he said.

So far, Moore has taken visits to Ole Miss and Alabama.

"Ole Miss was a great place, well supportive and everything. It had a good atmosphere down there in Oxford," he said. "It was a great experience down there in Tuscaloosa. It's somewhere to be."

Travel plans for the future have not been nailed down.

"In January, I want to try to attend some junior days," Moore said.

A trip to Clemson is a potential stop, but probably not until later in the year.

"Probably in the summertime," he said.

As a junior, Moore had 42 total tackles. He will participate in the U.S. Army Underclassmen Combine in January. Top Stories
