Union defensive tackle Bryon Bishop is backing off his early commitment statement as more offers roll in.

"Clemson offered, and North Carolina offered, too," says the 6-foot-3, 285 pounder. "I could not really say any more when I want to commit. I don't know if I could even say who is number one."

Bishop is also drawing interest from Tennessee, South Carolina, and Virginia. In addition, he plans on camping this summer at South Carolina and UNC.

The rising senior registered 60 tackles and 6 sacks in his first year as a starter last season. He also has a max bench press of 300 pounds and squats 375 pounds.

"Getting a degree is something that will be really important to me, and oustide of that, I just want to go somewhere that I feel comfortable with the coaches and the school," adds Bishop.

We will continue to keep you updated on Bryon Bishop, right up through signing day 2004.
