Maryland OL has Tigers #1

Maryland native Ben Gabbard has several schools in his top 5, but one school stands above the rest- the Clemson Tigers. Details on this massive offensive lineman and his potential scholarship offer are contained in this extensive report.

Annapolis, Maryland

An offer could be on the way for Broadneck (MD) offensive lineman Ben Gabbard, but he is not ready to admit the offer is true as of yet.

"Clemson said they are going to offer, but I have not seen it yet," says the 6-foot-5, 305 pounder. "The coach said they are going to offer a scholarship, but they need to do some paperwork."

So where does that put the Tigers on his favorites list.

"They are probably number one with Maryland, then West Virginia, and Georgia Tech. Distance is not really a factor, but I want to be somewhere in the South since I have family all over the place."

Gabbard plans to visit Clemson this weekend for their summer camp, and several others are on the list. "I am also going to Maryland, West Virginia, Penn State, Georgia Tech, and maybe Florida and Auburn."

As a junior, Gabbard gave up just one sack over the course of the season en route to honorable mention All-State honors. He also is fully qualified with a very impressive 3.9 GPA and a 1250 on his SAT.
