Commits react to Steele's departure

With Kevin Steele no longer the defensive coordinator at Clemson, several of the Tigers' 2012 commitments share their thoughts.

DT Josh Brown
"I just heard the bad news. It's crazy…I was surprised."

"My coach came by and told me about it. It's kind of hard. I met coach Steele and liked him. I was looking forward to getting to know him."

"Clemson, that's my heart. That's where my heart is, with Clemson. I'm going to do whatever it takes to be there. I know things happen. I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to try my best to get there, to stay there."

DB Travis Blanks
Via Twitter, "Who knows the definition of a commitment? Bc I do! And Im sticking to the commitment I made to Clemson University!"

OLB T.J. Burrell
"I really don't have too much to say about it right now."

"I'm just ready to get up there and see what's going on with everybody that's committed."

"I don't think so," he said, when asked it will change his commitment to Clemson.

S Ronald Geohaghan
"I was on Twitter earlier today and I saw something about it. I really didn't believe it until some of the other guys from the other Clemson sites were texting me asking me, ‘Did you hear about coach Steele being fired?'"

"It surprised me because there was a lot of different stuff going on during the week with him -- the rumors about him getting the job offer at Tennessee and him turning it down. It's real shocking for everybody."

"I'm still all in, have been since I committed on June 9. I'm still solid to Clemson."

DE Shaquille Lawson
"I talked to coach Steele a little bit. He pretty much offered me my scholarship last year. I sat down with him on my official visits."

"I had been hearing rumors around it. I didn't believe it at first, until I got a text today. Somebody told me he was fired."

"I'm still verbal, 100 percent." Top Stories
