The Daniel [Central] three-star defensive end met with the Tigers' leading defensive coordinator candidate.

"I saw him when I left. I spoke to him," Lawson said.

He added, "We just introduced ourselves to each other as I left."

Lawson, who arrived to campus on Friday, spent most of his weekend with Whitehead, Martin Aiken and Carlos Watkins.

"I think he really liked it," Lawson said, when asked if he thought Whitehead would join them on the Clemson defensive line.

"But I really think he likes Clemson, though."

The weekend, overall, was a good one for the No. 112 ranked defensive end in the class of 2012.

"It was fun. I had fun at the banquet, with the new players coming in, the new commitments coming in," Lawson said.

What else did he do over the weekend?

"We met with our host and hung out at the hotel, visited campus," Lawson said.

Former Daniel defensive tackle DeShawn Williams served as Lawson's host.

As a senior at Daniel High School in Central, Lawson racked up 100 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 10 sacks and an interception. Top Stories
