Brooks checks in on Grayson

Clemson defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks was at Lexington High School late last week to see junior running back Marquez Grayson.

Grayson will return the favor with a Junior Day visit to Clemson.

"I plan on going to Clemson on the 28th. I'm supposed to be going there. I might be a little late. I have to take the SAT," he said in a weekend interview with CUTigers. "I might go to Tennessee. I haven't heard too much from South Carolina yet, but I'll probably go there."

Brooks was through on Friday.

"We talk a lot. He's a pretty good guy," Grayson said.

Grayson's most recent to visit was for the North Carolina game. That trip, plus several other factors have put the Tigers in serious contention.

"I like the environment. I like being around the coaching staff already. Coach Dabo Swinney is a great coach. Their players are just great. I pretty much just like everything," he said.

Clemson, Tennessee, South Carolina, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Virginia and ECU have offered. North Carolina stopped by the high school last week.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back has no favorites. He won't announce a decision at some point during the final half of his high school season. Top Stories
