West Orange High School junior Corey Vereen has offers from USF and Minnesota. UCF told him they'll offer next week.

Who leads?

"Right now, it's UCF and South Florida [as the favorites]," Vereen told CUTigers in a recent interview. "They're the schools that have offered me. So those are my two favorites right now."

Clemson, Arizona, South Carolina, Florida State, Miami, Louisville and Florida are also in contact.

Vereen's visited Clemson twice. His first trip was last April. He returned in the summer for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

"It's a close-knit campus. It's real tight. Everything you need is on the campus, right there for you," Vereen said. The junior remains in contact with Clemson defensive ends coach Marion Hobby.

"I got to work with him at their camp. I liked the way he coached me," Vereen said. "I think that's the most important thing when trying to find a place. Do you like getting coached [by that school's staff]."

During the fall, Vereen visited Georgia Tech, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

He's already hit Miami and Florida's junior day. He'll head to Florida State, USF and UCF, too. As Vereen moves further along into the recruiting process, are several factors he will consider.

"Definitely computer engineering classes," Vereen said. "And the coaches, how I feel with them, what they tell me I‘m going to do there. And then how I feel about the whole town."

As a junior at West Orange, he had 105 tackles and 16 sacks. Top Stories
