CUTigers.com caught up with Holland Tuesday night and we've got the latest on the battle for his services.

The Northside High School star combines a 6-5,281-pound frame with exceptional 4.75 speed. Holland currently has offers from Virginia Tech, West Virginia and a verbal from Clemson but expect that offer list to increase quickly over the next few weeks as he is receiving attention from schools across the country. Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Penn State, Michigan State and Clemson are Holland's top 5 schools at this point.

Holland does not have a leader at this time. "I'm wide open," stated Holland.

Coach Lovett is recruiting Holland for the Tigers. The powerful defensive end will either make a commitment this summer or wait until after the upcoming season.

What factors will Holland consider when determining where he will play college football?

"Education is the most important factor. Then I will consider the football program and the coaching staff. I want a place where I can learn to become a better player." Holland would like to major in computer technology or sports management.

Holland is watching the expansion issue very closely. "I'm waiting to see what's going to happen. I'm waiting to hear about the BCS bid. Expansion will have some impact on my decision."

Summer camp plans include visits to Virginia Tech, Maryland and Clemson this summer. Holland has never been to Clemson, but coach Lovett has done a good job of keeping the Tigers in the mix for this prize recruit. "I've always liked the Clemson program. The coaches are good and the program is always good. Clemson is a good football school."

Holland stated that Woody Dantzler is his favorite Clemson player of all time. We will continue to keep you updated on Brandon Holland, right up to signing day 2004.
