Last month, Clemson offered this 6-foot-4, 310-pound interior offensive lineman from the Florida Gulf Coast.

OG Austin Droogsma Profile

Clemson offered Gulf Breeze High School junior guard Austin Droogsma last month while Jeff Scott and Robbie Caldwell were making the rounds up and down the Gulf Coast in Florida.

"They're definitely up on the list of schools that I want to look more into," Droogsma told CUTigers recently. "It's a really, really nice place to go."

He visited Tigertown late last year.

"I went to the Clemson/South Carolina game this year, but I stopped by there Friday before the game and met with coach [Danny] Pearman," Droogsma said. "I just kind of walked around and looked at facilities, and drove around the campus a little bit.

"It's a great school. I like what it's all about. I've got family up there [in Union]. It'd be really nice."

Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech and USF have offered. He's visited all four schools except for USF.

"Clemson, every piece of mail they were sending me was hand-written letters. I was like, I can't not go and meet with these people. If they're hand writing letters, it would be kind of a slap in the face to them to no acknowledge that," he said. "When I got up there, I was amazed with what I saw.

"I have been to a couple of FSU games. I have been to a Georgia Tech game. Coincidentally enough, I was at the Georgia Tech/Clemson game, when they played at Georgia Tech [last fall]." Top Stories
