The Tigers' second-year assistant had already informed St. Petersburg Catholic School junior Ryan Green that an offer would be on the way.

"I was kind of expecting it because he came to the school one week prior to that and said he was going to offer soon," Green said in a recent interview with CUTigers. "I was kind of expecting it."

With the offer, Clemson joins the likes of Florida, Florida State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, South Carolina and Virginia Tech. He holds offers from over 15 schools.

Green is still learning about the Tigers.

"I know they had a really good team last year," he said. "They're a program that's coming up in the ACC."

There is "definitely" some interest.

"Me and my dad were talking about going up to one of their junior days, during the summer or this March coming up," Green said.

He added, "I hear they have a wonderful campus and the stadium is nice, so I'd like to see their facilities and stuff like that."

Junior day visits to Florida, Florida State, Miami and USF have already been taken. He'll head to Notre Dame next month for a junior day.

"Everybody is dead even right now," Green said. "All windows are open."

As a junior, he finished with 1,069 yards and 14 touchdowns rushing. Green also caught 11 passes for 143 yards and one score while recording 57 tackles and picking off two passes on defense.
