Brownell checks out 2013 PF

A couple of weeks ago, Clemson head coach Brad Brownell stopped in Florida to watch this 6-foot-8, 200-pound power forward.

The Tigers' second-year head coach visited the Orlando area to see Boone High School junior Schulyer Rimmer.

"That was actually my last game of the season. It was the first-round of district and we lost," Rimmer said in an interview with CUTigers.

He added, "I think I played all right. I was getting triple-teamed all night, so I had a really difficult night, offensively. Even when I didn't have the ball, there were still two or three guys on me. On defense, I had 12 rebounds and eight blocks."

The junior averaged 16.4 points, 13.1 rebounds and three blocked shots this season.

"I've been talking with coach Rick Ray. He's been my contact. I talk to him, maybe once or twice a month," Rimmer said.

Four schools have offered -- Miami, UCF, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

"Stanford told me they will offer me, but I have to wait until after my junior year, for academic reasons," he said.

Clemson's stance an offer remains unchanged.

"When I went up there on a visit, coach Brownell told me there might not be many scholarships, because of what they've given out and the commit they have in my class," Rimmer said. "There may not be a spot for me at Clemson, but they're still interested in me."

He currently claims a list of favorites, which includes: Stanford, Penn State, Miami, Clemson, Florida and Tennessee.

"That's not in any order," Rimmer said. Top Stories
