CLEMSON - No 3's? No problem. Clemson didn't need any in Thursday's Senior Night win over Virginia Tech.

The Tigers missed all 10 attempts from long-range while the visiting Hokies knocked down 8-of-16.

"They guard the 3 really well, but in all honesty…we missed a couple that we normally make," said Brad Brownell, who improved the record in his second year at Clemson to 16-13.

"It wasn't an emphasis for us. We were trying to go inside and drive the ball more in this game. For whatever reason we didn't shoot it very well. Some of that, certainly, was their defense. They put a lot of emphasis on defending the 3."

No quit in these Tigers…
"I thought it was like a boxing match, a little bit back and forth, just proud of these guys for winning on an emotional night." - Brownell

"It's a toughness win. It's a mental, physical, grind-out type of game where you've got to show some guts and you've got to do things that aren't fun." - Brownell

"It was a little frustrating that it got so close at the end. If we could have made a couple more plays, offensively, we might have been able to put this one away." - Brownell

Potential for another first-round bye in the ACC Tournament…
"It's definitely big. We had a bye last year…that's one less game we have to worry about. It would definitely be helpful." - Andre Young

"I just think we need to take care of our business. We can't control what other teams do. It'll just be about what we do. If we don't get the bye, it'll be another game to put under our belt, at the ACC Tournament, to get the butterflies out. If we get the bye, it will be good to rest our legs a little bit." - Tanner Smith

Tanner's technical…
"[The referee] just said I turned around and it looked like I was starring at [the Virginia Tech player]. That's just kind of how it goes, sometimes." - Smith Top Stories
