Clemson offered the three-star prospect last month.

"I called coach [Marion] Hobby first then he gave me coach [Dabo] Swinney's number and I talked to him and told him that I was committing to Clemson."

It was a commitment the Tigers' staff was happy to accept.

"They were real excited. Coach Swinney said they're going to throw a party tomorrow morning in the coaches office," Johnson said.

As a junior, he had 50 tackles, four interceptions, including one for a touchdown, and 10 pass breakups. On offense, he caught 60 passes and scored nine touchdowns.

"I want all Clemson fans to know that they're getting a player who's going to be committed to the success of the Tigers," Johnson said. "I'm all in."

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect also had offers from North Carolina and N.C. State.

Defensive end Isaac McDonald pledged his commitment to Clemson earlier Wednesday.
