Travis Robinson Scouting Report

Travis Robinson, a 5-10, 180-pound cornerback, has extreme confidence in his coverage skills. According to his coaches Robinson loves to take on the opposing team's top receiver man to man. Read more about one of the first DB prospects to be offered by the Clemson coaching staff in this extensive report.

CB Travis Robinson
5-10, 180, 4.35
Hillcrest High School
Tuscaloosa, Alabama

From watching film Robinson has terrific hip rotation and displays the speed to stay with his man on deep routes.

Robinson finished his junior year with 43 tackles and five interceptions, plus he returned a fumble recovery 96 yards for a touchdown versus Tuscaloosa Central. Robinson has seven career interceptions to his credit and expects to add to that total as a senior.

He made the All West Alabama squad as a junior.

Robinson was timed at 4.22 in the 40-yard dash at the NIKE Camp in Auburn, but like the rest of that camp's clockings that number is suspect. However he says that 4.35 is legitimate. Robinson runs track in high school, competing in the 100- and 200-meter dashes.

Also at the NIKE Camp he registered a 4.02 twenty yard shuttle time and measured a 38-inch vertical jump.

In addition to NIKE, he has camped at Clemson, Auburn and Alabama (last year). He was at Auburn last Saturday and plans to attend Alabama's mini-camp this Saturday. "I'll be there," Robinson said. "Afterwards I hope Alabama will offer."

Following last week's camp at Auburn, Robinson told Jason Caldwell of Inside the Auburn Tigers that he favored Auburn. Reports from Tuscaloosa indicate that family loyalties are divided in the Robinson family, but at this point the Tigers would almost certainly lead.

Coincidentally, another set of Tigers (the Clemson variety) is also recruiting Robinson.

The Hillcrest product bench presses 300 pounds, squats 455 and power cleans 285. He has a 3.5 GPA and has scored 17 on the ACT.

After Auburn, Robinson says he is focused on Alabama and LSU as his top three. Clemson, Notre Dame, and Arkansas also feed his interest. Mississippi State, Clemson and Vanderbilt have already offered, though Robinson said this week that he expects an offer from Auburn.

Robinson is one of several prospects receiving recruiting attention from Hillcrest. Running back Markus Manson, O-Lineman Cody Davis, and defenders JeBron Manson and Titus Brown are also prospects.
