Four-star CB looking at Clemson

Just after signing day, Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables offered the No. 19 cornerback in the class of 2013.

CB William Likely Profile

The Tigers' first-year coordinator sent the offer to Glades Central [Belle Glade, Fla.] junior William Likely.

"I speak to him and the defensive backs coach. He's building a good relationship. He tells me about the program and how they're looking forward to winning a national championship," Likely told CUTigers in a recent interview.

He added, "The program is great. I'm looking forward to maybe being there."

Likely hasn't made any junior day visits because of commitments to basketball and track. He'll head to LSU next weekend for their spring game.

"I look forward to seeing their coaches and what their atmosphere is like," he said.

The rising senior plans to make some stops when the summer rolls around, but he's yet to nail down any plans.

Last fall, he visited Florida State and Alabama.

A 5-foot-8, 175-pound prospect, Likely holds over 20 offers, which include Alabama, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame and USC. He claims no favorites.

"I'm still debating, going through the process," Likely said.

He'll trim the list and focus on a specific number "very soon."

"Great coaches, atmosphere, weight program, school-wise and being able to imagine myself being there for the next three or four years," Likely said.
