Four-star in town this week

Later this week, one of the country's best tight ends in the class of 2013 will be making his way to Clemson for his first visit to Tigertown.

TE Josh McNeil Profile

Hillside High School [Durham, N.C.] rising senior Josh McNeil told CUTigers on Sunday night that he'll visit Clemson on either Wednesday or Thursday.

"They offered five of us a couple of weeks ago. It's going to be some of us, but I don't really know who for sure," he said.

Those other Hillside prospects with an offer from Clemson include 2013 North Carolina commits Korrin Wiggins [cornerback] and Kris Francis [running back], plus 2014 wide receiver Trevion Thompson.

What's McNeil looking forward to when on the visit?

"Just trying to see the campus and see how the coaches like me and want me. I just want to see how I would play if I was to go there."

Offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell is the primary contact for the Hillside prospects.

"He just says how much they need me, how quick I'll play and how much they love my tape," McNeil said. "They want to have me down on campus, to show me around and stuff."

How much interest does he have in Clemson?

"I don't really know, because I haven't been down there yet."

McNeil has not taken any other trips so far this spring. He'll head to Ohio State on April 21.

A commitment will be announced on Friday, May 25.

"I just want to do it before my high school season begins. I want to do it after recruiting season is over with. The coaches come to my school -- after all that stuff is over, I plan on making my decision then," McNeil said.

There is no list of favorites.

"I should be making a top-10 or a top-five by Friday," he said.

As a junior, McNeil he had 60 catches for 600 yards and seven touchdowns. Top Stories
