Vincent informed Clemson recruiting coordinator David Blackwell earlier this morning of his decision via the telephone.

The prize recruit from Fairfax attended camp at South Carolina this past weekend. "It was alright. I hurt my ankle so I only ran the forty one time. They didn't offer me and they don't really need linebackers."

Vincent also camped at Clemson earlier this summer. "I loved it. I like everything about Clemson. I know they need linebackers."

Offensive line coach Ron Coach West is recruiting Vincent but coach Blackwell was a big reason Vincent went ahead with a commitment.

"I really like coach Blackwell a lot. He is younger and he relates to the players. He definitely knows what he's doing."

Vincent, who is ranked as the #29 prospect in the state according to, is the first linebacker and the second defensive player that has verbally committed to play for the Tigers in 2004.

Clemson has also received the verbal commitments from offensive lineman Bobby Hutchinson as well as JUCO transfer defensive lineman Cory Groover.
