James Hunt High School [Wilson] junior Lewis Neal, who checks in at 6-foot-2, 235 pounds, spoke with CUTigers about the spring game trip.

"It was nice. It went well," he said.

What stood out?

"Just the atmosphere. I could tell the Clemson fans are going to support you. They're all in."

Neal spoke with several members of the Tigers' coaching staff while on campus.

"I talked to all the coaches. Once I came in, the coaches just swarmed," he said.

And what was their message?

"How I could fit in well and just how they need me. Where I would be playing and how that would benefit me."

Clemson has offered Lewis to play defensive end and JACK, a hybrid linebacker/defensive end position.

"That's what the NFL is taking. That would help me meet my goal," Neal said.

Coming up this weekend is a trip to Ohio State.

"I know it's going to be crazy with 90,000-plus [fans]," he said.

With offers from Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Wake Forest, Neal currently lists no favorites.

As a junior, he had 88 tackles and eight sacks. Top Stories
