Clemson offers four-star WR

Clemson wide receivers coach Jeff Scott called this four-star wide receiver from Crete, IL. to let him know the Tigers were offering.

WR Laquon Treadwell Profile

The offer went out on Tuesday night to Laquon Treadwell, the No. 10 wide receiver in the class of 2013.

"We talked for about 30 minutes. He explained a bunch of stuff to me then and told me I had an offer," Treadwell told CUTigers on Wednesday.

It was a bit of a surprise.

"I've been getting a lot of letters from them," he said. "I'd talked to one of their coaches earlier in the year, but I didn't really hear from them since then. But I got a lot of mail from them. It was kind of surprising."

Treadwell is still learning about Clemson.

"They had the best freshman receiver, Sammy Watkins. I've been watching the offense, their games," he said.

The offer from Clemson has piqued his interest.

"I have a lot of interest in them already, based on what the coaches say…I have a lot of interest in them, because of their offense," Treadwell said.

With over 20 offers, he's still weighing his options.

"I like the schools that I've visited. I like something from each school. I'm trying to visit more schools," Treadwell said.

Ohio State and Michigan have hosted him for visits this spring. Currently, he has no visits scheduled.

As a junior, he had 75 catches for 1,400 yards and 18 touchdowns.
