Scott checks on Howard

Clemson wide receivers coach Jeff Scott is one of several coaches to have already stopped by Wilcox County High School in Georgia.

WR Johnathan Howard Profile

Scott serves as the primary recruiter for rising senior wide receiver Johnathan Howard.

Howard detailed their most recent conversation.

"He was talking about how he wants me to get down to camp and on the campus, and meet with some of the players -- basically to get me down there to get me better," Howard told CUTigers recently.

The 6-foot-4, 181-pound prospect will camp at Clemson this summer. He has no other plans for other camps.

Clemson remains the leader for Howard.

"I like the tradition up there, and the way they do stuff," he said. "Everybody just seems so happy. When I went there, I was happy the whole time I was up there…I just feel that's where I could fit in and be a good player for Clemson."

Clemson, Louisville, N.C. State and Southern Miss have offered.

Florida also stopped by Wilcox County last week. Florida stopped by on Tuesday. Alabama is due in on Wednesday.

As a junior, Howard had 28 catches for 837 yards and eight touchdowns. Top Stories
