Clemson offers 2014 OT

CORNELIUS, N.C. - When Clemson tight ends coach Danny Pearman was by Providence High School in Charlotte last week, he dropped off an offer to Bentley Spain.

Pearman's trip marked his second spring evaluation period visit to the school. North Carolina, South Carolina, LSU, Florida and Miami have also been though.

"He came by the first day of the evaluation period and then he came by the next week and made an offer," Spain told CUTigers at Sunday's Nike Football Training Camp.

He'll make a return trip to Clemson later this summer. Spain visited for a game last season and was back in town for the March Junior Day.

"I liked it. Death Valley is crazy. I like the atmosphere. I think they're going to be really good in the next couple of years. They're going in the right direction," Spain said.

Also this spring, he visited North Carolina and South Carolina.

"I'm planning in June to visit LSU, Florida and all the other places that have offered me, but it's a little far on the weekends," Spain said.

Michigan and Alabama could also receive visits this summer.

"I like all the schools that have offered me. I'm just trying to keep it wide-open for the next couple of months." Top Stories
