On Tuesday morning, Clemson recruiting coordinator Jeff Scott dropped off an offer for one of the top linebacker prospects in the class of 2014.

The Tigers' assistant made the offer to Liberty County High School [Hinesville, Ga.] rising junior Raekwon McMillan.

Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Miami, Mississippi, N.C. State, Ohio State and South Carolina have also offered the 6-foot-2, 230-pound prospect.

"I wasn't expecting Clemson to come by today. It was in the morning, while I was in class," McMillan told CUTigers on Tuesday night.

Scott recently filled McMillan in on what's happening up in Tigertown.

"He was telling me that Clemson is a rising program," McMillan said. "They won the ACC Championship last year and they peaked at the five spot last year. They should be competing for a national championship soon with Sammy Watkins and Tajh Boyd."

Clemson is among the programs that have already caught his eye.

"I have a lot of interest in Clemson. Because they actually came down here, took time out of their time just to come see me, and show an interest in me," he said.

McMillan hopes to visit Clemson in the not too distant future.

"Me and my coach are going to take a road trip, starting down to Miami and going up to Ohio," he said.

Along with Clemson, Miami, South Carolina and Georgia have stopped by Liberty County.

Who leads?

"No top-five right now. I'm still wide-open, but Georgia, Ohio State and Alabama are coming at me really hard."

He plans to make an early commitment.

"I plan on committing kind of early, because I want to early in enroll at college, for a chance to start as a true freshman," McMillan said.

As a sophomore, McMillan had 97 tackles, 15 tackles for loss, three sacks and an interception. Top Stories
