Spring Spotlight: Michael Hill

PENDLETON, S.C. - Michael Hill is a four-star defensive tackle out of South Carolina and Scout spent time

Prospect: Michael Hill
Location: Pendleton, S.C.
High School: Pendleton
Position: Defensive Tackle
Size: 6-2/305
Ranking on Scout: No. 5 DT/No. 110 Overall

Recruiting Notes: Ohio State was at the practice when Scout was there and they are one of the schools still in the running for Hill. Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee are the other schools in the mix at this time. Hill would like to commit during the summer.

Head Coach Paul Sutherland's Comments: "It is hard to believe Michael weighs 300 pounds, but he does. He carries his weight very well, he is very tough to block in the middle, and he is a great athlete. He is a great kid and he will good at whatever school he chooses to go to."

Scout's Thoughts: Hill is a very athletic defensive lineman and he has the ability to play inside or outside on the next level depending on what type of front he plays in. He gets off the ball well, he has a quick first step, and he gets in the backfield often. He is very strong in the lower-body, but can still add strength in the upper-body. He plays with good pad level for an interior defensive line and he re-directs well.

Scout attended his practice on Monday May 8 and they were in shorts, shoulder pads, and helmets. Not a lot of of footage available on that day, but here are a few clips of Hill at practice: LINK
