RB has amazing time at Clemson

One of the class of 2014 running back prospects with an offer from Clemson was in town earlier this week for his first visit.

Four Hillside High School [Durham, N.C.] prospects made the Monday afternoon trip to Clemson -- Donte Williams, Josh McNeil, Korrin Wiggins and Trevion Johnson.

"It was an amazing experience that I had down there at Clemson," Williams told CUTigers. "It was surprising to see their academics and how the players are with their GPAs. They're telling me how I'd be able to graduate and have my degree in three years, but still have one or two years left in football to play."

He added, "We got to see the whole campus and football stadium. Got to see the weight room, players' locker room and see our jersey numbers, me and my other teammates, Trevion, Josh and Korrin."

Running backs coach Tony Elliott spent much of the afternoon with Williams.

"We talked to most of the coaching staff that was up there. I got a lot of one-on-one time with the running back coach," Williams said. "He wants me to come and play for them. He said three or four of the last starting running backs have gone to the NFL Draft and are playing in the league."

This past weekend, the Hillside group also visited Alabama and Georgia.

"I plan on getting to a couple of more camps and a 7-on-7 coming up, so we're going to be travelling around a little bit," Williams said.

He thinks camp visits to Florida, Duke, South Carolina and ECU could be in the works.

Williams currently holds nine offers. Along with Clemson, Florida, Ohio State, South Carolina, North Carolina, N.C. State, Vanderbilt and Purdue have also offered.

There is no favorite.

"I'm just real neutral, just exploring my options," he said.

As a sophomore, he rushed for 700 yards six touchdowns.
