Dukes Reports in at 315 Pounds!

With the first day of freshman practice just over a month away, it's time to check in with some of this year's outstanding recruiting class. CUTigers.com caught up with OL Marion Dukes tonight, and we've got the latest on what he's been doing this summer to prepare for Division I-A football.

So how does Dukes feel about starting his collegiate career? "I'm really excited. I'm looking forward to it. I am getting a little nervous. It's going to be some good years up there."

"Today I went over to Clemson and got my physical so I can start working out in July. I start workouts next Monday." Dukes, who weighed in at an impressive 6-4 and 315 pounds, will work out on campus during July and join the other incoming freshman when they report on August 4.

Dukes, who was one of the top offensive lineman in South Carolina last year, has been keeping up with several other incoming freshman and current players over the summer. "I talked with Jad a few times. I talk with CJ Gaddis a lot. I also talked with Greg Walker and Tommy Sharpe the other day."

And what about the upcoming season; what is the Pickens native looking forward to the most?

"I'm looking forward to the challenges that will be put forth. I look forward to meeting new people and getting to play with new players. I hope I get to run down the hill this year. That's one thing I'm looking forward to."

Dukes has spent the summer working hard to prepare for the college game. "I worked on my lower body and my upper body. I also worked on flexibility in my hips. Also foot movement and using my hands a lot."

We would like to thank Marion for taking time to talk with CUTigers.com this evening. CUTiger Insiders can look forward to joining the powerful lineman for a chat session in the coming weeks.
