MLB Ben Boulware Profile
The No. 20 linebacker in the country recently caught up with CUTigers to talk about his plans for the summer.
"I'm going to Winthrop [this weekend]. I have a tournament every single weekend for baseball," he said I didn't sign up for the Clemson camp yet because I hurt my ankle in the spring game. I'm still kind of rehabbing that, so I don't think I'll be ready for that.
"I'll probably go to the camp, just talk to recruits and stuff, but I don't think I'll be participating."
When he's working out for football, Boulware has a few areas he'd like to improve.
"Mainly, I guess, probably lateral speed. Most good linebackers are going sideline to sideline, so probably just that," he said.
Boulware, who is playing summer baseball with the Blue Chip Bulls, isn't sure whether he'll join his brother Garrett on the Clemson baseball team next year.
"That's still iffy. I really haven't gotten that down yet. That's still up in the air, too," he said.
Also up in the air is the possibility of graduating high school early and enrolling at Clemson in January. However, he's leaning towards graduating with the rest of his classmates at T.L. Hanna.
What's he looking forward to the most about playing at Clemson?
"Mainly, just being in a Clemson uniform. I've dreamed of playing for Clemson my entire life, just a chance to be able to play for Clemson. Really, the first time I get to put on the pads."
As a junior, Boulware had 181 tackles, four tackles for loss, four sacks, four forced fumbles, four pass breakups and a blocked punt.
Busy summer planned for Boulware
