Clemson offers Upstate RB

Every year since 2010, Clemson has signed a prospect from Daniel. Already on pace to continue the streak in 2013, the Tigers have positioned themselves for a 2014 addition as well.

DeAndre Hopkins, DeShawn Williams and Shaquille Lawson have all signed with Clemson. D.J. Greenlee is committed to the 2013 class.

Rising junior Jae'lon Oglesby picked up his offer from the Tigers on Thursday.

"I was supposed to go to the South Carolina camp Friday and I was supposed to go to the Clemson camp Saturday. They called coach [Randy Robinson] this morning. Coach Rob told my dad and me to go see them at the practice field," Oglesby told CUTigers on Wednesday afternoon.

Clemson was the first offer for the 5-foot-11, 176-pound prospect.

"It was big. I've pretty much been waiting on that since high school. I've wanted to be a Tiger ever since I was little," he said.

Oglesby was non-committal when asked if he was planning to commit to Clemson. But he still plans to camp at South Carolina on Friday and Clemson on Saturday.

Along with the in-state schools, Alabama, Notre Dame, Penn State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Maryland are also in touch with him.

As a sophomore, Oglesby rushed 221 times for 1,731 yards and 25 touchdowns. He caught nine passes for 97 yards and a score and returned three kickoffs for 105 yards.
