Lovett Offers Virginia Linebacker

Richmond's Andrew Bowman, who is one of the top linebackers on the east coast, recently picked up an offer from the Clemson Tigers along with several others. CUTigers.com caught up with the outstanding defender and we've got the latest on his updated offer list and his top 5.

LB Andrew Bowman
6-1, 220, 4.6
Hermitage High School
Richmond, Virginia

With a 6-1, 220 pound frame and impressive 4.6 speed, Bowman has all the physical tools to be a dominating middle linebacker. Bowman plays linebacker and fullback for Hermitage High School, but expect to see him in the opposing team's backfield on the collegiate level.

The talented linebacker now has offers from Virginia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, North Carolina, East Carolina, Purdue and Richmond. Expect that list to continue to grow over the coming weeks as South Carolina, Maryland and Pittsburg are also showing significant interest. "My top 5 has not changed," stated Bowman. Virginia Tech, Virginia, Clemson, Purdue and North Carolina continue to be the top 5 for Bowman.

Bowman camped at North Carolina two weeks ago and also made it up to Charlottesville for the Virginia camp just a few days ago. He will also join his teammates for a team camp at Richmond later this summer.

What factors will Bowman consider when determining where he will attend college? "How I get along with the players and the coaches. How I like the campus."

Coach Lovett is recruiting this prize recruit for the Tigers. Clemson will get their chance to impress this rising star when he visits later this year. "I haven't been to Clemson before. I know it's a good school. I'm looking forward to the visit."

Don't expect an early commitment from Bowman plans to take his visits before making a commitment. We will keep you updated on this outstanding linebacker from Virginia, right up through signing day 2004.
