Venables offers '14 Florida LB

Earlier this spring, Clemson sent an offer out to one of the top class of 2014 linebackers in the state of Florida.

Brent Venables offered Chaminade Madonna Prep rising junior outside linebacker Richard Yeargin in May.

"I know that Clemson is located in the heart of South Carolina, near Greenville. It's a good school, as far as athletics. I know Clemson is a good school for linebackers," he recently told CUTigers in a recent interview.

There is one factor in particular that has piqued Yeargin's interest in Clemson.

"[Venables], he specializes in sending linebackers to the NFL and making them All-Americans," he said.

A visit could be in the works.

"At the end of this month, I'll try to make it up to Clemson. If I do have a chance, I will," Yeargin said.

Tennessee, Ohio State and Florida are also potential visit spots. He visited Miami earlier this month.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound prospect has also picked up offers from Wisconsin and Wake Forest. Several other schools are expressing interest and close to offering, including Alabama. Top Stories
