Clemson added another commitment to the 2013 class when Georgia offensive tackle Maverick Morris pulled the trigger.

The Coffee County [Douglas] High School rising senior picked up a Clemson offer while in town this past weekend for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

On Monday, he pledged to the Tigers.

"Ever since last year when I came down to the game at Clemson, I really liked it," Morris told CUTigers on Monday.

"When I went to the camp, they offered me. I was thinking, maybe Georgia, because it was closer to the house. After going to Georgia, I just decided Clemson, I felt more comfortable there and I liked everything better."

Morris' first visit to Clemson was last fall for the Troy game.

"It was loud," he said. "It was a great time. It was a blast."

Offensive coordinator Chad Morris offered Morris after his performance at Friday's camp.

"He was just talking to me. We stopped in front of the weight room and offered me," Maverick said.

Morris will return to Clemson on July 20 with his parents, to take another look at Clemson.

"They got to look around at the game, a while back," he said. "I just want them to be able to look around again, and ask any questions." Top Stories
