Clemson offers Upstate junior

Before leaving the Dabo Swinney Football Camp, one of the top 2014 prospects in South Carolina picked up an offer from Clemson.

Woodruff High School wide receiver Blake Bone got the news from Dabo Swinney, Chad Morris and Jeff Scott.

"It was the last day. I was there all weekend, but the last day after the Swinney Ball game, coach Scott walked over to me and talked to me with coach Morris and coach Dabo," Bone told CUTigers recently.

He added, "I sat down and they said I would be a good fit for their offense."

South Carolina was first to offer Bone, who checks in at 6-foo-4, 170 pounds.

"It feels good, to be honest, because people have been telling me that they don't just offer a lot of in-state guys. That's fine with me," Bone said. "I just wanted to get better at their camp. I feel blessed that they offered me, especially from their own state."

Also this summer, Bone would like to visit Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Duke.

In 13 games as a sophomore, he caught 62 passes for 1,009 yards and nine touchdowns. Top Stories
