Clemson offers Queen City bruiser

Clemson sent an offer to one of Charlotte's top prospects in the class of 2014 after he made his first visit to Tigertown.

RB Elijah Hood Profile

Charlotte Christian's Elijah Hood worked at both running back and linebacker while in for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

"It was something they encouraged, and I wanted to do. It was a win, win situation," Hood told CUTigers recently.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect added, "It was a good experience. I enjoyed it."

Hood played mostly running back last season, but he plans to see more time at linebacker as a junior.

"I did great at linebacker. The linebacker coach [Brent Venables] said he really liked me," Hood said.

Tony Elliott was also impressed.

"He said he liked me, too. So I guess they're going to be kind of fighting over what position I'll play, if I go there," Hood said.
Defense is the preferable side of the ball.

"If I had to choose, it would probably be linebacker, but I wouldn't mind playing running back either," he said.

At linebacker, "you get to hit people and you get to be physical and I like the challenge of trying to stop somebody."

As a junior, Hood rushed for 1,889 yards and 34 touchdowns on 168 carries. Top Stories
