Muy Watching Commitments Closely

Tallahassee's Danny Muy, an outstanding offensive lineman from Florida, is watching the commitment lists very carefully as he considers where he will play his college football. CUTigers.com caught up with Muy last night and we've got the latest on his offer list and his timeframe for a commitment.

OL Danny Muy
6-3/275/5.1
Lincoln High School
Tallahassee, Florida

The current offer list for the Lincoln High School star includes Clemson, Nebraska, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, East Carolina and Connecticut but others including Alabama and Florida State, are showing significant interest.

However Muy does not feel comfortable listing a top 5 at this point. "It's still very early. I'm trying to find a school with a major that interests me but I'm not yet sure what I want my major to be. I'm talking with my parents a lot trying to find something that will interest me."

The talented prospect has attended the Down and Dirty camp this summer but he is concentrating on his senior season. "My coach really doesn't like for us to attend a lot of camps. We're trying to get ready to win a state championship."

As far as strengths go, Muy considers himself to be an excellent run blocker. "I like run blocking. I like to pull and I like to be active. I don't mind pass blocking and some say that is one of my strengths." The 3-star prospect plans to get even better during his senior season. "I am working on my leg strength and my leg drive," stated Muy.

A commitment may come sooner than planned for the Florida native as he is watching the verbal commitments at each school very carefully. "I would love to take my visits before I commit but I may make my decision earlier. Everyone is committing so early that I may have to pick my spot. Unless your one of the top prospects in the country you need to watch the commitments."

So what factors will the Florida native consider when determining where to play college ball?

"Academics first. I want to go to a school with a major that I'm interested in. The tradition of the football program. Whatever school shows me the most love. I want to go where I will be welcome. I want to be a big part of the team."

Coach Swinney will be working hard to get his third offensive line commitment from Florida, and getting Muy on campus may be the key. "I have never been to Clemson, but I would very much like to visit the campus."

Finally, location is not something that seems to be very important to Muy. "It's not a big deal. I need to get away and grow up. Become a man."

We will keep you updated on this outstanding prospect from Florida, right up through signing day 2004.
