One of the top defensive tackles in South Carolina's 2014 class made the short trip down Highway 123 to Clemson for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

DT Quaven Ferguson Profile

Easley High School junior Quaven Ferguson spoke with CUTigers about his camp stop in Clemson.

"It was pretty good. It was fun. I got to get closer to the coaches," he said.

What stood out the most to the future star?

"It just showed me how different high school and college campuses are."

This was the second summer in a row Ferguson has camped at Clemson, so he already had a good idea what to expect from defensive tackles coach Dan Brooks.

"He's a pretty good coach. He's somebody you can listen to. He can let you know how to do something right without having to get onto you," Ferguson said.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound prospect also camped at Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech this summer.

"Their coaching staffs seemed pretty interested. It was pretty cool," he said.

Ferguson has yet to pick up an official scholarship offer, but he's receiving interest from Clemson, South Carolina, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech.

As a sophomore, he registered 79 tackles and 16 tackles for loss.
