Clemson offensive line coach Robbie Caldwell offered this junior guard from Florida during last month's Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

Caldwell sent the offer to East Lake High School's [Tarpon Springs] Mason Cole]. Caldwell and Cole got to know one another during the first session of camp.

"It was good. I hadn't been to the campus until the camp. I got to see the campus and meet with the coaches. I got to see how coach Caldwell was up there," Cole recently told CUTigers.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pound prospect enjoyed working with Caldwell.

"He was real good. He's kind of old school, which is good. That's how I like it," he said.

Clemson's facilities caught his eye, too.

"The campus was great. It's a nice area. It kind of had that home feeling to it," Cole said.

Clemson's offer meant a lot.

"They've always been up there as one of my favorite schools. It was pretty exciting," he said.

Fourteen schools have offered, including Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, USC, Stanford, Michigan and Ohio State.

"I'm just trying to keep an open mind. It's so early," Cole said.

He's also visited South Carolina, Stanford and USC this summer. Florida State will host him for camp. Ohio State and Michigan will also have Cole on campus later this summer.

This fall, he hopes to visit Clemson, USC and Ohio State for games. Top Stories
