Trevion Thompson, one of the premier wide receivers in the class of 2014, visited Clemson earlier this summer with several of his teammates.

The Hillside High School [Durham, N.C.] group toured Clemson in early June.

"It was basically a tour of the school, the campus. That's basically what we did," Thompson recently told CUTigers.

"I enjoyed myself. We got to see where the football facility, the lake around the practice field and indoor facility. We saw that, went to the academic center. We went around campus and saw the dorms and some of the classrooms. It was a whole different environment with the school."

Thompson had been to Clemson a couple of times already, so he was familiar with Clemson. He enjoyed catching up with wide receivers coach Jeff Scott and recruiter of record Robbie Caldwell.

Also this summer, Thompson visited Alabama and Georgia.

He has two schools in mind for visits this fall.

"I was talking about it with a few teammates, Korrin Wiggins and Donte Williams, who also have offers from Clemson. We were talking about getting up and going to a game one day," Thompson said. "We're planning on going to a game."

Clemson, Florida, N.C. State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Vanderbilt are among the schools with offers out to Thompson.

Who leads, in no particular order?

"I would say, if I had to choose, I would say Clemson, Ohio State, Florida and South Carolina."

Thompson caught seven touchdown passes as a sophomore.
