Virginia DE with plenty of options

The Tidewater region of Virginia is usually one of the most talent-rich areas in the country.

DE Jalyn Holmes Profile

One of the top junior prospects from the area, Jalyn Holes, has over 10 offers already.

Clemson, East Carolina, Illinois, Maryland, Miami, North Carolina, N.C. state, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech have offered. Holmes thinks Alabama could be offering soon.

He visited Clemson over the summer for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp. Virginia Tech and East Carolina hosted him this summer, too.

At Clemson, "It was real good. I liked the campus. I had a good vibe with the coaches. I liked it there."

Holmes, of Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk, has a few destinations in mind for this fall, but nothing's for certain.

"I don't have anything set right now. I haven't planned anything. But if I go anywhere, I'll go to a Virginia Tech or a UVA game, and probably N.C. State," he said.

Those three schools, he said, are closest to his home. That's why they're potential destinations.

Who leads?

"I don't have a top-five now, but I probably will by next summer."

The 6-foot-5, 230-pound prospect knows what he's looking for in a school.

"A place that I could see myself living for four years, a good education, how the depth chart looks, stuff like that," he said.

As a sophomore, Holmes had 60 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five sacks. Top Stories
