Adams breaks down battle of Tigers

The No. 1 defensive tackle in the country, Montravius Adams, spent his Saturday evening in the Georgia Dome watching Clemson play Auburn.

Clemson and Auburn are among the schools vying for Adams' signature next February. On Saturday night, the Tigers of the ACC knocked off the SEC's version, 26-19.

He spoke with CUTigers about his experience in the Dome.

"It was good," Adams said. "I watched how the coaches act during the game and how the players react to it."

What stood out about Clemson's play on the field?

"How coach [Brent] Venables has their defense improved…I liked it. I think they've improved."

And what Auburn with first-year defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder?

"I think they probably improved more, especially in the middle at defensive tackle."

Since Auburn was the home team, they were allowed to host recruits at the game. However, the Auburn coaching staff was not allowed to speak with any of the prospects while they were in attendance.

Adams spent most of his time with Auburn commitments Carl Lawson, Reuben Foster and Tray Matthews, a Georgia pledge.

The five-star defensive tackle doesn't know where he'll head next. He still plans to take official visits to Oregon, USC and LSU, but none of the three have been scheduled.
