Top sophomore WR likes Clemson

LOGANVILLE, Ga. - One of the top 2015 wide receivers picked up a Clemson offer over the summer.

WR Da'Vante Phillips Profile

Miami Central High School sophomore Da'Vante Phillips has a total of four offers. Along with Clemson, Miami, Florida State and Alabama have offered the 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect.

"Whoever comes and gives me a lot of playing time, I'll be there for them. I've got a lot of time," Phillips said, after Miami Central lost to Grayson late last month.

"I don't have a favorite yet. I've got to wait just to see who gives me more interest," he said.

Phillips' first visit to Clemson was in June for the Dabo Swinney Football Camp.

"I went to visit them. They've got a nice school. I like them a little more. They're one of the offers I've got right now," he said.

What stands out about the Clemson offense?

"I like their offense. I look up to Sammy Watkins. He inspires me. They pass it and run it, go half and half. That's what I'm looking for, a team that passes," Phillips said.

He also took summer visits to Florida State and Florida.

"I'm going to try to look at all the teams, because I've got two more years. I'm a sophomore. I'm going to look at the teams and see who's offense is passing it the most," Phillips said.

As a freshman, he had 25 catches for 315 yards and seven touchdowns. Top Stories
