Hutchinson Commitment Growing Stonger

Bobby Hutchinson, a verbal commitment to the Tigers, took an unofficial visit to Clemson with his mother this past weekend. CUTigers.com caught up with the outstanding offensive lineman to see what he thought about his first visit to Clemson. We've got all the details in this in-depth Q&A.

How did your visit go this weekend?
Hutchinson: I had a great visit. It's a real nice place.

Was your first trip to Clemson what you expected?
Hutchinson: It was more than I expected. I heard what people had said about it but it was more than I expected.

What did you think of the stadium?
Hutchinson: It was awesome. I loved it. It was real big. They're going to redo it and make it even bigger. I got to see the plans.

What did you like the most about Clemson?
Hutchinson: My favorite part was Vickery Hall.

Who did you see on your visit?
Hutchinson: I talked with Coach Swinney, Coach West and Coach Bowden. I also got to talk with Charlie Whitehurst and Tommy Sharpe.

What did the other players tell you?
Hutchinson: They said it was a great atmosphere and a great place to be.

What did Coach Bowden tell you on your visit?
Hutchinson: He was just preaching to make sure I keep my grades up. He also wanted me to make sure I did well on the ACT and SAT. He said just because I'm committed I shouldn't let my grades slip.

Which schools continue to show a great deal of interest?
Hutchinson: Florida State and Syracuse.

How firm is your commitment to the Clemson Tigers?
Hutchinson: Very firm. Very, very firm. When February comes I will be signing with Clemson.

What are you looking to accomplish your senior season?
Hutchinson: I just want to go out and have a great senior season. I don't want to get hurt. I want to help my team win the state championship.

What are you looking forward to about playing for the Tigers?
Hutchinson: Having Coach West coach me. He's a great coach. I'm also looking forward to playing for Coach Bowden.

What did you think about Coach West?
Hutchinson: This was the first time I met coach West. I was very impressed with him.

How did your mother feel about the visit this weekend?
Hutchinson: She fell in love with the place. She loved the atmosphere, Victory Hall and the coaches.
