Elite defender takes in Clemson

Class of 2014 defensive end Andrew Williams was in Clemson on Saturday for his first visit to Tigertown since June.

The Eagles Landing Christian Academy [McDonough, Ga.] junior prospect spoke with CUTigers after the game to share thoughts from his experience.

"It was good. That was my first Clemson game. That was one of the loudest games I've ever been to," Williams said.

While in town, the 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end met with a number of members from the Clemson coach, including defensive ends coach Marion Hobby, who also serves as his primary recruiter.

"I met all of them, [Dan Brooks], [Brent Venables] and coach [Dabo] Swinney…it was really cool," Williams said.

What stood out about the trip, and what he saw on game day in Clemson?

"The actual game -- that was my first game there -- the field, the cannon, the excitement in the crowd, and also the fans. It was all pretty cool."

Notre Dame and Georgia Tech have already hosted Williams on visits this fall. Up next, he hopes to make trips to Florida and LSU.

Williams listed no favorites, but his notable offers include: Clemson, Alabama, Florida and Florida State.

Through five games this season he has 15 sacks.
