Upstate WR enjoys trip to Tigertown

Clemson had a wide receiver in from one of the nation's premier high school programs for Saturday's game against Virginia Tech.

WR Tavin Richardson Profile

It was the first game in Clemson this season for Byrnes sophomore Tavin Richardson.

"It was really good," he told CUTigers over the weekend. "It was a big conference game. I pay as close attention as I can to how the fan base reacts to the game, and seeing how the players played really good during that game."

Earlier this season, Richardson visited Georgia for the Tennessee game. He'll head back to Clemson for the South Carolina game.

The 6-foot-4, 195-pound prospect went to four Clemson games in 2011.

While in town on Saturday, Richardson spoke with offensive coordinator Chad Morris.

"He just asked me how I was doing. With football, how that's been going," Richardson said.

What stands out about Clemson?

"The fans are what stands out to me, and how their offense is a spread-type of offense that likes to throw the ball a lot."

Richardson is still waiting to pick up his first offer, but he's received interest from Clemson, Georgia, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.

Through nine games this season, Richardson has 29 catches for 421 yards and four touchdowns. Top Stories
