Adams' Mother Approves

Montravius Adams had been to Clemson four times, but his mother Debbie Young had yet to be there before Saturday. She visited with the five-star defensive tackle and she liked what she saw.

"It was my fifth visit to Clemson, so I wasn't really visiting for me this time, I was visiting for my mom. I wanted her to see what it is like there, so I wanted to get her up there," Montravius Adams told Scout.

Ms. Young spoke very highly of Georgia the week before after spending a Saturday in Athens, so how did she feel about Clemson?

"She liked it at Clemson like she did at Georgia. She left Georgia saying that was the best visit she had been on and she is now saying Clemson and Georgia are her favorites. She liked everything up there from the people to the area. Clemson really ranks high on her list now."

The Tigers rank high on her son's list too.

"I really like the town and how it makes me feel at home. Clemson reminds me of Vienna, my hometown, so that has always stuck out to me.

"I like the coaches, I get along with everyone there, and I feel like I would stay out of trouble there too. I have always felt good about Clemson when I am there."

Dabo Swinney and company will have to fight off numerous of national programs to get Adams' signature in 2013, but they seem to be on the right track to being a true contender for the top defensive tackle in the country until the end.

"My mom wants me to be in a safe place and around people who will take care of me for the next three or four years, and she thinks Clemson could be that place," Adams said.

Adams still says he will take official visits to LSU, Oregon, and USC with the other two undecided at this time. Top Stories
