FSU pledge ready for Clemson official

Since July, three-star cornerback Adrian Baker has been committed to Florida State. Next weekend, he'll make an official visit to Clemson.

The visit will be the first trip to Clemson for the Chaminade Madonna College Prep [Hollywood, Fla.] senior cornerback.

"I want to see Clemson University, the town and stuff like that," Baker recently told CUTigers. "Coach [Brent] Venables and I have been in constant contact. Me, coach [Charlie Harbison] and him have been talking a lot.

"I just want to see the facilities, the education department and that's pretty much it. I just really want to see the school."

The No. 51 cornerback in the class of 2013 has kept a close eye on the Clemson program.

"I just know that it's a great ACC school. Academics are one of the aspects," Baker said. "Coach Venables is a great coach. I know that coach Venables is doing a good job with the defensive side of the ball, so that's great, too. It's a top 15 program, as well, so it's a great program."

Contact with Clemson began in the spring, not long after Venables arrived from Oklahoma. The official was first scheduled earlier this month. It wasn't finalized until Sunday.

For now, the only two officials Baker will take are to Clemson and Florida State.

As a senior, he had 40 tackles and four interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. On the offensive side of the ball, Baker finished with 20 catches for 500 yards with nine touchdowns.

As a junior, he finished with 21 tackles, five interceptions and two defensive touchdowns. Baker also scored once on a punt return.
