Junior CB visits Clemson

This cornerback from Georgia, who holds three offers, visited Clemson last month for the Tigers' shootout with N.C. State.

CB Lance Austin Profile

The visit was the first experience in Clemson for Lance Austin, a junior from Lamar County Comprehensive High School [Barnesville, Ga.].

"It was a good visit. I got to talk to the coaches. I liked it. I'm going to try to get back up there sometime," Austin recently told CUTigers.

What stood out?

"It was great. I liked it a lot, especially when I got to go back into the locker room…I had fun in the locker room, but I liked just about everything there."

Clemson is recruiting Austin as a cornerback. So are a number of other schools, including South Carolina and Georgia. He was a Florida guest for the Georgia game in Jacksonville.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pound cornerback has offers from South Carolina, Marshall and South Alabama.

Who leads?

"I don't have any favorites. But if I had to pick a school out of my offers, it would be South Carolina. But I really like Clemson, as well."

This month, South Carolina, Michigan State and Louisiana Tech were among the schools to send coaches by Lamar County.

As a junior, Austin had two interceptions. He also threw for over 600 yards and rushed for over 600 yards.
