Ogundeko steps into the spotlight

Around the time many Clemson fans start to settle in for supper on Friday night, Ebenezer Ogundeko will be announcing his college decision.

In the second quarter of Friday night's Under Armour All-American Game, the three-star defensive end from Brooklyn will let the public know which shade of orange he will wear for the next four to five years.

Ogundeko will select either Clemson or Syracuse before a nationally televised audience on ESPN.

Scout.com lists Ogundeko as a three-star outside linebacker and ranks him as the No. 37 player at the position in the class of 2013. If Ogundeko makes his commitment to Clemson, which he is projected to do, the Tigers will play him at defensive end.

Ogundeko would join two other defensive ends commitments in Clemson's 2013 signing class, Shaquille Lawson and Dane Rogers.

A 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect from Thomas Jefferson High School, Ogundeko had 74 tackles and 17 sacks during his senior season.

Clemson hosted Ogundeko for an official visit on the weekend of the South Carolina game. He exited Tigertown listing Clemson as a co-leader with Florida. The Gators have since exited the picture, making it a race between Clemson and Syracuse.

Arizona State, Florida and Syracuse also hosted Ogundeko for official visits.

Friday's game kicks off at 5 o'clock. Ogundeko is the only Clemson target scheduled to announce his choice during the game.
