Garinger High School freshman Raekwon Long made the trek down I-85 South to Clemson for the ACC opener versus Florida State.
"It was good. We got there a little late, in the second half. I enjoyed it. A lot of people were there. Most of the [students] weren't there, so I can just imagine what the campus would be like [when school is in session]," Long told CUTigers recently.
The 7-foot, 250-pound center was impressed with what he saw during his behind the scenes look at Littlejohn Coliseum.
"I enjoyed it," he said. "I saw the weight room and the locker room. One thing I noticed, in everybody's locker, coach puts a little note in there telling them what they expect of them, what their expectations are. I thought that was pretty cool."
What was the message from Brad Brownell and his staff?
"They were just saying to make sure I keep getting good grades, and making sure that I work hard."
Along with Clemson, Long has already received interest from, Kentucky, Louisville, N.C. State, Washington State, Texas A&M and Marist. He has not picked up an offer.
So far during his freshman year at Garinger, Long is averaging 12 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks a game.
