Sylacauga High School [Alabama] senior T.J. Green is set to make an official to Clemson this weekend.
Less than a week ago, he picked up an offer as an athlete from Clemson. The Tigers view the 6-foot-3, 197-pound prospect as a defensive back.
"They offered -- it was [this weekend], Saturday," Green told CUTigers on Wednesday.
He added, "I wasn't expecting it, but I was excited about it."
Green has been hearing from Clemson for close to a week now.
"I've watched them on TV. I know the traditions they have. I just like watching them play," he said.
T.J. Green has been on the Clemson radar for about a week.
"Just the people I'm going to be around."
What stands out about the Tigers?
"Just the kind of football that they play, and the level of play."
Along with the recent interest from Green has recently been offered by Kentucky and California. Cincinnati, Southern Miss, Western Kentucky and Troy have also offered.
"I'm probably about to decommit," Green said.
UAB and Cincinnati have already hosted him for official visits. Next weekend, the final before signing day, Green may visit Kentucky. But that's not set in stone.
As a senior, Green averaged 22.3 yards per catch and hauled in five touchdown receptions. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 25 tackles and four interceptions. He scored three touchdowns on kickoff returns and another on an interception.
