Clemson [11-8, 3-4 ACC] beat Virginia Tech 77-70 at home on Sunday. Milton Jennings scored a career-best 28 points, and made 16 for 18 shots from the free throw line. Damarcus Harrison added a career-high 19 points.
"Really proud of the way our guys played [Sunday] coming off a good win against Virginia Tech," Brownell said. "Certainly Damarcus Harrison played much better than he's played all year, which was good to see. He made some shots for us.
"K.J. McDaniels shot the ball well from 3, and Milton had a great game both scoring and making clutch free throws and rebounding the ball. So it was a good win for us."
Jennings is now second on the team in scoring with 11.2 points per game. Devin Booker continues to lead the way with 12.6.
"Those two seniors have done a really good job of anchoring that team," Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory said, "And maybe playing their best basketball of the year with two very difficult close losses on the road to Florida State and North Carolina State, then to come back and play extremely well against Virginia Tech."
Gregory leads his team to Littlejohn Coliseum on Tuesday night for a 7:07 tipoff.
In the 120 meetings between the Tigers and Yellow Jackets, Clemson has won 61 times, including the last five -- four of which were under Brad Brownell.
Georgia Tech [11-7, 1-5 ACC] won its first ACC game of the season on Saturday with an 82-62 defeat of Wake Forest.
"Obviously, a very quick turn around here in preparation for Georgia Tech," Brownell said.
